One of the best buys and favourite Pinots is back in store – snap up a bottle or six to secure yours. A wickedly drinkable Pinot, from a classic Martinborough vineyard, that seriously over delivers!
Julicher 99 Rows Pinot Noir is an earthy, interesting and savoury Pinot Noir with red fruit flavours, underpinned by firm tannins and fresh acidity, from one of the country's best regions for this fickle and fantastic grape variety. This wine, 99 Rows, puts a strong case forward for high quality Pinot under a supposed second label produced by Julicher Wines, a single estate winery on Te Muna Road, Martinborough, now owned by Brad and Warren Butterworth.
This wine is 100% hand harvested, destemmed and received punch downs twice daily during fermentation followed by aging for 10 months in French oak.
The 99 Rows pours a Dark cherry red aromas of sweet ripe blue and red fruits and lifted rose petal floral notes elegantly lift from the glass, later developing hints of Bergamot orange peel.
The palate is bright, vibrant acidity combines with fine chalky tannins to provide an elegance and purity that typifies Te Muna Road Pinot Noir. The clean finish juxtapositions the complex earthy undertones of the mid palate.
