Beaujolais Villages is produced in a specific area of the Beaujolais region by 1250 growers. It was the first appellation to use the « Village » denomination. Allowed for 38 villages and 3 areas having distinctive specifities, these fruity and bodied wines give a good expression of their terroirs. Vineyards often lie on the upper parts of steep hillsides. These tasty red wines are an intermediary between the lightness of Beaujolais AOC and the prestige of the 10 Crus, located more to the north.
Silky texture. Black in colour. Deep and smooth. Aromas of spice.

From the Bordeaux variety this is a red wine with a good body and unmistakable character. When young the bouquet is typically grassy, a sensation which weakens as the wine ages.
