MASI Costasera Amarone della Valpolicella Classico DOCG 2013 750ml

Masi Amarone Costasera 2013 is a beautifully mature Amarone della Valpolicella, showcasing the complexity that only time can bring. Over a decade of bottle ageing has softened the tannins and developed elegant tertiary notes of dried fig, leather, tobacco, dark chocolate, and sweet spice, layered over rich dried cherry and plum flavours. Full-bodied, velvety, and exceptionally long on the palate, this special older vintage is drinking superbly now and pairs perfectly with slow-cooked meats, game, and aged cheeses.

Alcoholic content: 15% vol.

Storage life: 30-35 years

Grape varieties: Corvina, Rondinella, Molinara.

Look: very dark ruby red

Nose: baked fruit, plums and cherries

Palate: fruity tastes, with hints of coffee and cocoa. Very well balanced.

Food pairing: Excellent as an after-dinner wine, or to go with red meat, game, quails and richly-flavoured dishes. Very good with well-aged cheeses, such as parmesan, pecorino and gorgonzola.
