Craggy Range The Quarry 2016 is a rare, bold Bordeaux-style red blend from the Gimblett Gravels region in Hawke's Bay, New Zealand.

Grape Blend: Predominantly Cabernet Sauvignon, with smaller percentages of Merlot and Cabernet Franc.

Backstory: Named "The Quarry" because the vineyard site was once saved from becoming a gravel quarry by local vignerons. It is only produced in exceptional vintages.

Profile: Deep black-red color with intense aromas of pure blackcurrants, cassis liqueur, violet-like florals, dark herbs, and subtle pencilly oak.

Palate: Medium-to-full-bodied with a succulent mouthfeel, fine-grained, opulent yet refined tannins, and a very long, sustained finish.
