While Hazelburn represents Springbank distillery's light, unpeated side, Longrow is its exact alter-ego.

First distilled in 1973 and named after a long-lost neighboring distillery, Longrow Peated is Springbank's heavily peated, double-distilled expression. It is designed to be robust, oily, and fiercely smoky—offering a unique Campbeltown alternative to Islay's famous peat monsters.

Tasting Notes

The standard Longrow Peated (a Non-Age Statement bottling) is matured in a combination of ex-Bourbon and ex-Sherry casks, striking a balance between industrial dunnage warehouse smoke and coastal sweetness:

Nose: Very creamy at first, opening with vanilla custard and toasted marshmallows. This quickly gives way to a maritime saltiness and a rich, leathery smoke—often described by enthusiasts as smelling like a wet "harbourmaster's jacket."

Palate: Incredibly sweet, oily, and viscous. Light fruit notes of green grapes, rhubarb, and candied lemon zest contrast with a massive, mid-palate blast of soot and bonfire smoke.

Finish: Long, ashy, and gently drying. The salty-smoky maritime notes return, accompanied by a lingering, musty, earthy spice and a touch of medicinal warmth.
