Rockburn Eleven Barrels; the name says it all really. Every year we fill hundreds of French oak barrels with Pinot Noir, and every year I search for those individual barrels that most eloquently speak of site and season. We present the results of that search to you here with a wine that exhibits the attributes I enjoy most about Pinot Noir; subtlety, elegance and personality
98/100 (5 Stars) - Sam Kim, Wine Orbit "A magnificent rendition, showing dark plum, baking spice, vanilla, floral, and stylish oak aromas on the nose. The palate is both opulent and elegant, with outstanding weight and persistence. Wonderfully framed by velvety texture and loads of polished tannins, making it structured and sturdy with a long, refined finish. At its best: 2026 to 2040”
5 Stars, Michael Cooper - "The fragrant, weighty and supple 2023 vintage (*****) was estate-grown in the Parkburn Vineyard, in the Cromwell Basin. Matured for 14 months in French oak casks (9 per cent new), it is a deep ruby, full-bodied red, with rich, ripe flavours of cherries, spices and nuts, gentle acidity and a very finely textured, lingering finish. Already delicious, with lovely depth and harmony, it should be at its best 2028+".
